USA and Canada
Glacier National Park, Montana: Glacier is probably one of the most preserved and beautiful parks in the country. The glacier-carved U-shaped valleys, surrounding summits, lakes and sheer size make it truly unique. And it's relatively easy to spot wildlife, including black and grizzly bears if you are patient enough. It is connected to Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada.
Images from the Pacific Northwest: This is a collection of photographs primarily shot in western, eastern Washington and British Columbia. One of the perks of living in the Seattle area is the access to nature and parks within a few hours drive or seaplane ride. It's great when you have a full time job and a family.
Mount Rainier National Park, Washington: While it is a very famous park, it is nonethless impressive. Standing at 14,410 ft (4392m) the volcano is massive in the valley. There are many spots from where to enjoy the park. I like the area around Reflection Lake at dusk in early spring when the road re-opens after Paradise.
Hawaii: I captured these images stealing just a few hours from a family trip to the islands. Hawaii's diversity is striking. Although most images are from Mauii, the Big Island remains my favorite with its 11 climate zones and varied landscapes.
Olympic National Park, Washington: This is my favorite park. Beside being only a short drive from Seattle, it remains protected and pristine. Aside for a circular road, there are no paved roads that cross the park entirely. To experience it, you have to hike it. It is a majestic park featuring several rain forests, alpine snowcapped peaks and deep valleys, beaches and sea stacks and phenomal wildlife.
Newport and Cannon Beach, Oregon: This is another example of a few hours stolen off a family vacation on the Oregon Coast. Newport is a fishing town bustling with activity in day. But it winds down at night and only some trawlers come back to port with their catch. Cannon beach features some of the most impressive sea stacks on the West Coast.
San Juan Islands, Washington: While not part of the national park sytem, the San Juan Islands are a fantastic escape from Seattle just a ferry ride away - with the beauty of rugged coastlines and a laid-back island feeling. This is a very photogenic destination at any time of the year. The slopes of Mount Constitution at sunrise and sunset provide magnificient vistas of the islands, Rosario, Haro, San Juan de Fuca Straits, Puget sound, the Olympics and the Cascades with Mount Baker.
Backyard wonders, Washington: When time is short, a quick run to the backyard and surrounding parks give excellent opportunities to capture close-ups of nature with a macro lens and have fun doing it, especially after a rain shower which brings out reflections and colors.
Norh Cascades National Park, Washington: This is not the most famous part in the Pacific Northwest, but it is one of the most rugged and inaccessbile. Most of the park access is closed from Late October to June. This section of the Cascades is nicknamed the Alps of America as it closely resembles the European counterparts.
France

Paris, Winter: Paris is the city of lights: I've tried on two occassions to capture images that one would not necessarily expect in a traditional Paris photo gallery - with a few exceptions. I grew up in Paris, and the city still holds a special place in my heart.

New Paris, Summer : Summer in Paris. A collection of images from the capitcal in the month of July.

Normandy, Winter: There many beautiful places in Normandy just a short drive from Paris. Among the landmarks: The Mount Saint Michel - one of the wonders of the world, The Colleville American Cemetery - a tribute to fallen GIs of the Normandy invasion, and Deauville - the trendy gambling resort for Parisians.

New Normandy, Summer: Same region as above in the summer.

Brittany, France: I love this region of France, it is a three hour drive from Paris. Saint Malo is the craddle of French piracy and is full of legends. Dinard is a medieval town featuring a downtown with houses dating as far back at the 10th century. They are amazingly preserved. And, of course the food and cider are fantastic.

New Dordogne: Dordogne is a départment in south-west France. It is reowned for its castles orginating from the 100 year war between France and England, and for its amazing cuisine, wines and brutal medieval history.
